The Fastest, Cheapest, and Most Secure Bridge Now Supports L1 → L2 Transfers

tl;dr The Across interface has now been integrated with the canonical bridges of Optimism, Boba, and Arbitrum to support transfers in either direction.

The Across bridge is the fastest, cheapest, and most secure bridge, and it now supports bridging in both directions.

Across has integrated with the canonical bridges of Boba.network, Optimism.io, and Arbitrum.io to bring you a seamless experience. You should keep in mind that canonical bridges take a bit longer than L2 → L1 transfers. There is no additional fee.

How Does Across Work?

Across is a bridging function and provides incentives to relayers to offer short-term loans to users on L1. These loans are repaid to the relayer within two hours, from liquidity pools on L1. The pool is refreshed once funds from the canonical L2 transfer settle. Transactions are insured using UMA’s Optimistic Oracle (OO), which acts as a dispute resolution layer. The OO verifies and validates all contracts between the user transferring funds and the insurer earning the fee. Currently, users can bridge USDC, ETH and UMA from L2 Arbitrum to L1 Ethereum.

By offering instant, secure and cost-effective transactions, Across will form a pivotal part of the infrastructure of the ecosystem. The protocol has been given to the community to build it into an entire ecosystem. While development of Across is still underway by UMA, the community has already become closely integrated in the project.

Across Protocol is an intents-based interoperability protocol, capable of filling and settling cross-chain intents. It is made up of the Across Bridge, a powerfully efficient cross-chain transfer tool for end users, Across+, a chain abstraction tool that utilizes cross-chain bridge hooks to fulfill user intents and Across Settlement, a settlement layer for all cross-chain intent order flow. As the multichain economy continues to evolve, intents-based settlement is the key to solving interoperability and Across is at the core of its execution.
